Wedding make up

A fresh, natural look for my (almost) sister in laws wedding. Perfect for a beautiful sunny day.

Lisa Simpson...

A fun fancy dress outfit for a party

Myself dressed as 'Lisa Simpson' from The Simpsons

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Karin Park, a singer/songwriter born in Sweden, and Groovefinder Records who produced Karens video for her single ‘Tiger Dreams’.

Unfortunately the video released contains none of the footage from the shoot I worked on but I had the chance to play with some great effects, using different materials found in the kitchen I created sticky, gooey substances and moc oil to produce some fun ‘strange effects’ as per the brief. Also I created a silicone stitched effect for up Karen’s spine for an ‘eery’ effect. The entire video was going to be shown in reverse to produce a re-birth effect, so we shave a doubles hair in sections at a time so it would appear to be growing when reversed.

Whilst Karen’s make up was done by a different artist I did the make up for the supporting artists using dark eyes and dark lips to create a sinister look.

It was a really fun shoot even though we did not manage to film all of the effects prepped, it was also a shame to never see the footage of what we did capture.

Seconds From Disaster-9/11

I was asked if I would help out as a supporting artist on a TV docu-drama 'Seconds From Disaster-9/11' shown on The Discovery Channel. As I had nothing else booked in I thought this would be a great opportunity to experience what it was like to work in front of the camera and also see what it was like to work as a supporting artist.

This docu-drama re-enacted and told the stories of survivors from the Twin Towers, all of which were amazing to learn about whilst also being harrowing tracing and re-enacting the steps of what they went through.

This experience has defiantly helped me to understand how important the job of being an SA is and also how to relate to supporting artists, who have to spend a lot of time hanging around waiting to be needed. We did a lot of waiting, ate a lot of biscuits and drank a lot of coffee! Although when we were needed I did not miss having the time off the gym as we were reconstructing survivors who had escaped down the stare wells we did a lot of walking down stairs and climbing back up them to re set for each take!
