I was asked if I would help out as a supporting artist on a TV docu-drama
'Seconds From Disaster-9/11' shown on The Discovery Channel. As I had nothing else booked in I thought this
would be a great opportunity to experience what it was like to work in front of
the camera and also see what it was like to work as a supporting artist.
This docu-drama re-enacted and told the stories of survivors from the Twin
Towers, all of which were amazing to learn about whilst also being harrowing
tracing and re-enacting the steps of what they went through.
This experience has defiantly helped me to understand how important the job
of being an SA is and also how to relate to supporting artists, who have to
spend a lot of time hanging around waiting to be needed. We did a lot of
waiting, ate a lot of biscuits and drank a lot of coffee! Although when we were
needed I did not miss having the time off the gym as we were reconstructing survivors
who had escaped down the stare wells we did a lot of walking down stairs and
climbing back up them to re set for each take!
