After leaving university...

After leaving university in 2006, and whilst working in an awesome local restaurant in Eton (Gilbeys, awesome food, highly recommended!) I was introduced to The Gilbeys son Julian Gilbey a Director. Who at the time was filming ‘Rise Of the Footsoldier’, a british gangster film starring Ricky Hartnet, Terry Stone, and Craig Fairbrass and featuring a line up of other fantastic actors. He has recently co written and directed ‘A Lonely Place to Die’, a very different but ultimately fantastic thriller film. Julian gave me the opportunity to shadow a fantastic sfx artist ‘Richard Allport’ after just one day observing and being used as an extra Richard asked me to assist him on some of the filming. This was my first job in the industry and cemented the idea in my head for wanting to be a sfx artist. Although only being credited as a runner, I had the opportunity to assist on the sfx make up and prosthetics for this film, a fantastic experience.
